What is the maximum size that can be one installer of the .msi windows package?

We are testing the download to the server, in particular, accepting the installer files for the .msi package. I can currently create a total 2 GB .msi file with limited Visusl Studio knowledge and tools that I have, but I am wondering if I can create a larger file.

None of my search queries gave me a definitive answer, but I need to check the maximum file size that can be downloaded, which is apparently limited by the maximum .msi file size that I cannot find or create. I assume that it is more than 2 GB, does anyone know or can point me to the correct resource?

The 2 GB limit is for CAB files included in the MSI package, not for the MSI database itself. To create a larger installation package, you need to configure it to place resources in several CAB files, next to the MSI package.
