Detection of automatic reply to emails

I have a scenario in which I will need to track the delivery of emails that I send programmatically and mark those recipients who have set “Not at work” OR message delivery failed due to too large incoming mail OR if Email ID do not exist. Such instances usually send automatic responses. How can I track them? Does .NET (System.Net.Mail) offer any APIs for this?

There is no set of checks for autoresponders that produce perfect behavior (detecting all autoresponders without false positives), but the following checks have worked well so far:

  • Auto-Submitted , no (. RFC 3834)
  • X-Autoreply X-Autorespond
  • Precedence auto_reply

.
