How to convert timestamp for today in jasper report ireport designer 4.5.0

I need to convert or format mine timestamptoday to a report that I create using Jasper Reports iReport designer 4.5.0

I get stardate as 2012-04-01 12:00 AM and I want to convert or format it to dd / mm / YYYY.

How can i achieve this?

In the constructor, iReportyou can set the template for fields or variables. Select the field and you will see the property bar on the right. Then find the Template property and set it according to your needs.
