My installation of Visual studio eats memory like a hungry pig. Depending on what I'm doing, after a while it is too slow and I have to restart it. Typically, devenv.exe reaches 700 MB before rebooting it.
I would expect it to slow down due to excessive page exchanges or something else.
I read somewhere that Ctrl-Alt-Shift-F12 helps, but does nothing.
Are there any corrections for this, or at least something that will allow me to run it longer until it inflates my ram, i.e. will begin to run slowly at 4 GB, not 700 MB.
I have Windows 7 x64 with 8 GB of RAM. Using Virgin Antivirus Materials.
I have many running applications, I have a suspicion that this may be changing, which causes it to slow down.
The number of projects or solutions does not matter, since I can run one winforms project with approximately 50 lines of code and after several tens of debugs, etc., it will still look like trying to get a dead horse.
That.
