Uninstall Xcode 4.2.1 after installing 4.3.1

I carefree updated to Leo from the snow leopard. Then I upgraded Xcode to 4.3.1, which as part of the upgrade removed 4.2 from the snow leopard. Then I realized that one of my other development tools didn’t work with 4.3.1 at all, so I installed 4.2.1 with it in the hope that I fixed the situation. This is not true. How to remove 4.2.1, so I just stayed with 4.3.1? I tried to remove 4.3.1 and reinstall, hoping that it would detect 4.2.1 and delete it, as it was during the first update, but not in the bone. Searching the web show I need to run uninstall-devtools, but I can not find it anywhere, / The developer does not exist ... Trying to reinstall 4.2.1 in the hope that the uninstaller was installed there, it says that "Xcode installation assistant does not may be installed because xcode is already installed "(he didn’t say it the first time, obviously), so I can’t reinstall it without 4.3.1 in the hope of getting the / Developer folder ... It seems that uninstall-devtools does not load in 4.3.1 (and I also have command line tools installed.) I can’t find 4.2.1, maybe it didn’t install (I forgot to check the disk capacity before / after), but why can't I try to install it again without installing xcode?

It turns out that the installer 4.2.1 actually installs the Xcode installer in your applications folder, which in turn installs Xcode. The solution is to find the installed installer (makes so much sense ...) and install Xcode so that things behave as expected.

Install Xcode 4.2.1 again, and then uninstall it:

sudo /Developer/Library/uninstall-devtools --mode=all
