Subversion 1.7 (client): does reindexing and evacuating wc.db improve performance?

A bit of the background of the environment I'm using:

When implementing Subversion 1.7, using SQLite to store its metadata, I just experimented a bit by reindexing and vacuuming the file wc.dbin the .svn( sqlite.exe wc.db "reindex;vacuum") directory . This reduced the size of the specified file from 70 MB to about 30 MB.

AFAIK, clearing SVN does not do this, and therefore I assume that this is not part of the process.

Does this help increase productivity? Should I do this regularly?
