Opscode Chef for Amazon EC2

Question

I am new to opscode chef. I want to integrate the opscode chef into my web application. I created node using the opscode web console on Amazon EC2. Now I want to know what to do and how to play with the chefs and the other part of the chef? I also cannot connect to the instance that I created on Amazon EC2. I am using a hosting server.
