CarrierWave and Fog do not have this functionality initially; You will need an external bootloader to display progress material. When I had to solve this problem, I used to download the jQuery file , because I already had jQuery in my stack. There's even a CarrierWave integration message so you can just follow the instructions there to get a progress bar that works for your application.
