Moving the reference library to another location

I have an SSD as a system drive (C :) and this is a real lifesaver, but the free space here is a premium value, so I want to save unnecessary files from this drive.
One of the main "eaters" of the disk is the VisualStudio reference library , used in local mode.
I searched on the net but no luck how to move this location (C: \ programdata \ Microsoft \ HelpLibrary) to another path on a regular hard drive (e.g. D: \ HelpLibrary).
Is there a way to do this using Visual Studio, or do we need to use some registry tricks or configuration?

I found a solution on this site.

I am writing the relevant part of this article here.
However, I suggest reading it because there is a lot of information about HelpLibrary settings

  • Complete the “Help Library Library Application” (of course, you cannot change anything with this launch)
  • Find the current path to the help library repository by looking at the "LocalStore =" registry value in HKLM \ Software \ Microsoft \ Help \ V1.0 \
  • Go to this folder and move everything to the right place.
  • Update the registry value "LocalStore =" in HKLM \ Software \ Microsoft \ Help \ V1.0 \ with the new path.
  • \queryManifest... xml .
