Google API | Site url

For example, to get a site icon, I can use http://www.google.com/s2/favicons?domain= and fill in the domain. Google returns icon. I would also like to get the title.

I know that I can parse the header from html on the server side ... or I could use javascript document.title on the client side. But I do not want to download the whole site.

I used the favicon bc example; it was a good example of how you have data about a site accessible on the Internet, without having to do a “heavy lift”

For the title should be similar. Essentially, I want to combine the URL with the header.
