Netbeans: Auto Format - Prevents space formatting when assigning a variable

I prefer to assign formatting as follows:

$foo          = $bar;
$long_foo     = $bar;

instead of this:

$foo = $bar;
$long_foo = $bar;

However, the latter is used by Netbeans when using the automatic format. Does anyone know how to fix this?

It has been 3 years since the publication of this question, but I think it is very useful, so I have to answer this question. I found one website that seems right to your question.

In the Alignment category, there are new properties for multi-line alignment of groups - the purpose and initializer of the array.
