Slow Light.exe - problem with AV

I had a problem that I would think others might have come, but I can not find any messages.

My (small) WiX project takes a lot of time (2-4 minutes each) to build assemblies on our server, but much faster on my desktop (a few seconds).

After some conversation, I narrowed it down to McAfee, looking at temporary files created by light (found in the TEMP user environment variable). I don’t know why it has been scanning for so long - turning off the AV has a build time of up to 2 minutes, before it was more than 20!

Now my problem is how to exclude these temporary files from AV. I do not want to exclude the TEMP folder for obvious reasons, and there seems to be no way to exclude the file name without creating a large hole in AV.

So, I think my question is, is there a way to configure light.exe to use a path other than TEMP? I tried a few command line commands with no luck. Maybe I could add something to Light.exe.config? Greetings.

Can you not just turn off real-time antivirus scanning on your build machines? My argument in favor of this would be that your virtual machine should be completely scanned and then turned off, and that all the files that bring it into the build machine come from the original control and / or file shares that should have been scanned at different points upstream process.

We scored over 100,000 teams a year at my last job, and A / V would have killed us.

, light.exe -?, , WIX_TEMP, .
