When I add the last line from this snippet to my program code:

It seems you did not specify an operator definition <for comparing two type objects Job.

When you insert an object into std::set, the container must know the position at which it must insert the element for which it needs to compare the object to be inserted with the elements already present in the set. An operator is used for this <, which I assume you did not provide. std::set<Job>just doesn't know how to compare two type objects Job.
