I am improving a document management project, and one of the requirements is the provision of documents (word, pdf, etc.) on a web page. Pdf can be displayed using an iframe, object, or inline tag and servlet. But other documents, such as word, excel, cannot be displayed on the web page. My solution is to convert these documents to pdf or html when rendering and make them like that. I tried to convert them with JODCONVERTER and it converts but converts the word (docx) from almost 700 pages to pdf for 25-30 seconds, to html 30-35 seconds. It's too much. To expect too much during events is not very good for users. Documents will be stored on our server, and not elsewhere. Is there one more thing for faster conversion or better solution?
Thank!
You can use jodconverter + LibreOffice 3.5. * or jodconverter + OpenOffice.org 3.4.1 (I tried both recently and faster than LibreOffice 3.6 + / 4.0 +) in combination with the lazy / parallel conversion process to improve response time.
