I heard a lot about ā open time personalization for emails, and Iām having trouble finding an explanation of how the technology actually works. The only part of the email that I can think of could be changed in open time, it will be an image It might look like this:
- Insert some recipient information or other information in the query line on the image
- The user opens an email, requests an image, and the server decides what to send back based on the query string, time of day, weather, product inventory level, etc.
But I see links that seem to indicate a more complex setup (like changing a product). How can I change the text of the letter in open time? Am I missing something or is it just a fancy image replacement? How does this work with Gmail image caching ?
