Failed to recognize my Android device on mac

Question

I am trying to connect my Android device to a Mac to test the application that I developed. First, I installed the USB driver, then I activated the developer option on my phone by clicking on the build number, and then check the USB debugging option. Once I have done all these steps, when I connect my Android mobile, my Mac still does not recognize my device. Any idea to solve it?

Perhaps this is your USB cable, try another one.

There are two types of USB cables:

• for delivery only
• for delivery and data

I had the same issue with the Moto X and MacBook Pro. I tried many suggestions (installed Android File Transfer, tried different USB ports on my computer, Settings => Storage => USB computer connection => switched between MTP and PTP, etc.). None of these recommendations helped.

It finally worked when I tried using a different micro-usb cable .

Bizarre You first want to enable Developer Options first by going to Settings => About Phone => by pressing Build number 7 times to display Developer Options . From there you want to enable USB debugging .

I linked my Android with cheating with my mac:

1) If you use Android studio , you can upgrade to the latest version 1.0.2 or 1.1 preview , because the lower version has some problems with connecting ADB.

2) You can restart your IDE again.

3) You can go to settings - storage - three documents in the right corner - USB computer connection - enable MTP

I have a HTC U11 and a MacBook Pro (2017). He used to work most of the time, but I had problems with him once or twice. Then restarting the Mac solved the problem. Recently, I was not able to debug USB. adb devices did not give anything, although my phone said that I was debugging USB (even asked if I wanted to).

After many attempts, it was decided to connect the phone and start HTC Sync Manager (I also had to update it). Then he magically began to wake up.

I recently (2018) began to experience this problem, and found the only way to connect my device is to use a USB hub. I could not track the root cause, but I will edit this answer if I find a solution, not a workaround.
