TestFlight support for ios7 and older?

TestFlight is scheduled to be completed on February 26 of this year (2015). Now they have configured testflight to work through the developer portal. However, it seems to work only for iOS8 .

TestFlight can be used to test iOS apps on iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch running iOS 8 or later.

Does this mean that for ios7 or ios6 there will be no testflight support? I used to love testflight because I don't have an ios6 device or any iphone size, but I have friends who do this to check them out for me.

Is there a solution for sending a beta application to someone who is running ios6 or 7 (or even ios5)?

We moved from TF to another solution as soon as they confirmed that they would no longer support Android. And now I clearly see that this was the right decision.

Returning to your question. No, they do not support iOS versions older than iOS 8. Thus, there is no chance to test on iOS 7 or iOS6 using TestFlight.

However, there are many solutions that provide the distribution kit for iOS 7 and later. Here are the three most useful and stable:

At our company, we use Ubertesters today for three reasons:

  • It supports Android and iOS 7;
  • They have a unique function for adding errors in the application, which we could not anywhere else (you can create and edit screenshots of errors in the application)
  • We use our beta testers.

However, this is a very personal point of view, so you can quickly explore all 4 solutions and find something that exactly matches your development and testing needs.

To my understanding with testFlight no. Apple wants to port all tests on iOS 8 to iTunesConnect

But you can use Diawi , this is a beta test that you can install in the application with a link, but you still need to add UUID devices.

http://fabric.io offers an ad-hoc distribution system for both iOS and Android. Of course, you still need to correctly fill out the preparation profile and sign the application.

Short answer: None .

My guess is that Apple wants application developers to abandon iOS 7 support. Since, according to Mixpanel statistics regarding iOS 8 integration, there is % 20 using iOS 7, which I think is still huge .

There are other beta versions of the beta version, see my answer here . So far I have had good experience with Crashlytics ...
