DidReceiveRemoteNotification: fetchCompletionHandler is not called when it is not bound to xcode iOS 8.0.2

Question

Here's the problem, when the application is bound to xcode, didReceiveRemoteNotification:fetchCompletionHandler .

But when I disconnect it, it is not called even when a notification is received.

I reconnected the application (debug-> attach to process) and sent the notification didReceiveRemoteNotification:fetchCompletionHandler .

Can someone explain why didReceiveRemoteNotification:fetchCompletionHandler not called when I disconnected it from xcode?

The application has not been closed. I just open it and put it in the background.

Tested on iPhone 5 iOS 8.0.2
APNS Sandbox.
