Incorrect translation of Google Web fonts in Safari

I use google-webfonts on my website,

body { font-family: 'Roboto', sans-serif; }

Link the font on the layout page with

 <link href='http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Lato|Roboto:400,300' rel='stylesheet' type='text/css'>

This works great in Chrome and firefox. But in Safari, the font is mor bold, I'm trying to fix the font, but it didn't work. how can i solve this problem

Google Fonts provides three import methods: < link > , @import or JavaScript). Regardless of your choice, the response to the request is always the same, a list of fonts.

The "url" descriptor of each font provides the paths by which to select the binary. Firstly, he will try to install the installed fonts in the OS, if it fails, select in Google Fonts.

Somehow Safari does not get the right font for the desired "font-weight" if the font is on the OS. In my case, I set "font-weight" to 100, so it should use "Roboto-Thin", but instead it gets "Roboto-Light".

The easiest solution is to remove the font and provide Google (I did this with Roboto). If this is not good for you, there is another option: do not use the import methods described above and determine the font yourself.

To do this, paste the URL provided by Google in your browser, copy the provided CSS code and paste it into your own CSS file.

Apparently Safari does not yet support woff2. It supports woff. So you need to find the woff version URL and change the format to woff.

  • Visit: https://fonts.google.com/specimen/Roboto
  • Click the "Try in TypeCast" link in the lower right corner.
  • Click "Download HTML / CSS" in the left pane.
  • Open the downloaded index.html.
  • Copy value link_element.href +=
