Close white cursor in Android Studio

AndroidStudio

In Android Studio, my cursor is a white rectangle. I can’t write anything. And they changed the action of the button on the keyboard.

h β†’ left arrow j β†’ down arrow k β†’ up arrow l β†’ right arrow

How can I fix the problem or can I install reset Android Studio?

You have the same problem as you. And this solution:

Go to File > Settings > Editor > General > Appearance , then uncheck Use block caret

Try fn + ins . It worked for me.

Press Fn + Del on the keyboard together. Explanation: Because the Delete key on the keyboard has the Insert function. Therefore, pressing Del along with the Fn key will enable the insert mode in your editor from Overwrite mode, as in your case.

Just restart Android Studio and voila!

None of the other solutions worked for me (Windows 7, possibly with an inactive Lock Num key).
