503 errors (service not available) on Azure sites

I keep getting this 503 error on all of my standard Azure sites in Western Europe. I tried restarting the application pool and also tried to zoom out and then again. Am I missing something or could it be a mistake at Microsoft?

Here we are faced with the same problem. I already opened a support ticket and received the following response:

Thank you for contacting Microsoft Support. This case is related to the incident that is currently taking place. We have a team that handles all cases related to such incidents. We will transfer your business to this team. After such a transfer, here is what you can expect to happen.

  • We will send you regular updates on the status of the incident. This information is the same information available from the Azure Status Page, located at http://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/status/#current . However, instead of requiring you to check the status page, we will provide information to you by email.
  • As soon as the incident is resolved, we will notify you of another notification, after which your case will be closed.

Microsoft is now showing an error on its Azure Status website.

Sites in Northern Europe work. Therefore, we will configure the traffic manager on Azure using the "Failover" method. In case of problems in Western Europe, the traffic manager will automatically forward all connections to the mirror website in Northern Europe. See https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/articles/traffic-manager-overview/
