Passwd single user mode on OSX not working

I'm currently trying to create a root account from single user mode in OSX Yosemite

/sbin/mount -uw / launchctl load /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.opendirectoryd.plist passwd

The first two lines work fine, but after entering "passwd" nothing appears. Even a hint for saving input commands. I do not believe that he sets the password, because everything that I type is apparently, and even if I type the same text twice, nothing happens.

When I try to run this command after the computer boots up and I logged into my account, "passwd" works as expected, it asks me for the old password and the new password twice.

I had exactly the same problem as today, today. However, there is another way:

Reboot the Mac, then press and hold Command + R when it boots up until the download bar appears. Then you will enter recovery mode.

Recovery mode has a user interface, so use your mouse and select Terminal in the Utilities section of the menu bar.

Type resetpassword into the terminal and press Enter . This will load the reset password utility where you can select the user and give them a new password.
