Package for connecting R and Excel without a Java virtual machine

Question

A few months ago I found on the Internet information about the R package for connecting R with Excel and vice versa (basically what xlsx and XLConnect ).

However, the main difference with respect to the two solutions mentioned above was that the package was not designed to use the JVM (which continues to give me some problems).

I spent quite a bit of time trying to find a link to this package without success.

openxlsx: read, write and edit xlsx files

Simplifies the creation of .xlsx files by providing a high-level interface for writing, styling, and editing worksheets. Using Rcpp, read / write times are comparable to xlsx and XLConnect packages with the added benefit of removing the Java dependency.
