R connect to Thomson Reuters Eikon

I searched the Internet and did not find a package connecting to Thomson Reuters Eikon .

This is a financial data source, more or less similar to Bloomberg . Bloomberg is supported through R with this package:

http://findata.org/r-name-redacted/

There seems to be nothing for Reuters , but maybe I'm completely wrong? Ideally, I would like to connect to a Reuters terminal and automatically undo some information from R

I created a package that connects Eikon with R. It is still in the alpha stage with basic functions, but I use it daily without any problems. You can find it here . Please leave any feedback or problems directly to the Bitbucket tracker.

UPDATE in 2017:
Thomson Reuters has released the Eikon API (now in beta) with the Python package. Please note that you need a desktop license to access the API. Information / documentation can be found in the developer portal . You can find the unofficial R-package on Github: https://github.com/ahmedmohamedali/eikonapir
