Is it me, or something unpleasant here, about NotifyIcon . No matter what I give to the timeout parameter of the NotifyIcon.ShowBalloonTip method, it only displays for a certain period of time. Which is around 9 seconds on win7 and wins 8.1 and around 4 sec. on a Windows 2008 r2 server. These are the operating systems I have tried so far.
I tried overloading NotifyIcon.ShowBalloonTip , but getting the same results.
//this is only shown for 9 seconds notifyIcon1.ShowBalloonTip(15000);
and this one
//this is only shown for 9 seconds too :) notifyIcon1.ShowBalloonTip(15000, "1 sec", "shown for one sec", ToolTipIcon.Info);
The msdn says:
The minimum and maximum timeout values are performed by the operating system and are usually 10 and 30 seconds, however this may vary depending on the operating system.
OK, but don't we have a word about this? If this is a given value, why does this timeout parameter exist?
I hope that I am missing something stupid. (I work with .net 4.5)
