Hibernate PSQLException: invalid value for type int: admin

Well, I have a desktop application with JAVA and Hibernate 4.3.1 . At the moment, I have only two objects (User and Role).

User

... @ManyToOne(fetch = FetchType.LAZY) @Fetch(FetchMode.JOIN) @JoinColumn(nullable = false, name = "fk_role") private Role fk_role; ...

Role

 ... @Column(name = "admin", nullable = false) @Type(type = "org.hibernate.type.BooleanType") private boolean admin = false; ...

I tried instead

 @Type(type = "org.hibernate.type.BooleanType")

.

 @Type(type = "org.hibernate.type.NumericBooleanType")

and

 @Type(type = "org.hibernate.type.YesNoType")

and

 @Type(type = "org.hibernate.type.TrueFalseType")

As shown here: http://docs.jboss.org/hibernate/core/3.6/reference/en-US/html/types.html#types-value-basic

And nothing. = /

I also tried: http://alenovarini.wikidot.com/mapping-a-custom-type-in-hibernate

= (In the database, the type for the column administrator is boolean, and I'm using Postgres 9.3 . When I run this, I got the following: -

Finally, I found a mistake!

The error message returned to me by Hibernate was "an invalid value for the int: admin type", but the problem was not . This post was completely crazy about the problem. The real problem was that in the database my primary key (pk_role) is of type VARCHAR, but in my essence I put as type INTEGER.

After Vlad tried to help me guess the version of the jdbc driver, I set up the configuration exactly like in another project, I worked very well, and the error was the same, so I knew that the error was in my own code, for sure.

If you have a separate database schema, just change the column type to boolean :

 ALTER TABLE role ALTER COLUMN admin TYPE boolean default false; ALTER TABLE role MODIFY admin NOT NULL;

and then the display is as simple as this:

 @Column(name = "admin", nullable = false) private boolean admin = false;
