Is there any IPMI simulator?

I need to check some ipmitool commands. I do not have a server with ILO / IDRAC installed. Is there a simulator that can simulate as an IPMI server? (Or) Is it possible to use virtual machines of the virtual window / Qemu / KVM to implement IPMI drivers and test them on a local network? Is there any documentation of this kind? Please suggest. Thanks.

You can perform some IPMI tests without real IPMI equipment. The OpenIPMI library provides a simple IPMI simulator that allows you to access your local network. Download the OpenIPMI library and read ./OpenIPMI-2.0.21/lanserv/README.vm .

It is not possible to emulate a real BMC, such as iLO or DRAC. However, this is enough for the first round of testing software with IPMI support.
