Can I specify my own Message-Id email header when sending using Mandrill?

I am sending emails using Mandrill and I want to set the Message-ID myself. Now I see this identifier:

Message-Id: < 30152892.20150311183809.55008b919f0c49.69649774@mail132-29.atl13 1.mandrillapp.com>

What I'm trying to do is find out why Gmail does not group messages sent from Mandrill into conversations. Perhaps this is due to the Message-ID and In-Reply-To headers.

I am using the Mandrill Node API , and the sendTemplate function has the ability to set headers . But this does not work, because Mandrill seems to be overwriting my identifier.

Yes, you can set your own, but you will want to make sure that it matches the appropriate format for the message identifier. We will not redefine your identifier until it is valid, but if it is not formatted correctly, we will rewrite it.
