Protect the range so that only ** values ​​** can be edited (i.e. protect all formatting)

I think this is not possible in the current version of Google Sheets, but I thought I would ask anyway:

I want users to be able to enter values ​​in a specific range in a spreadsheet, but I want them to not change the formatting (in particular, data validation and conditional formatting). I would also like to prevent them from adding new rows / columns or deleting rows / columns.

Is it possible?

You can do this on a new sheet. Right-click on the sheet name, select the protective sheet, select "save for certain cells", and you probably have this good ...

You may have an old sheet, as it does not work on some existing sheets. If you press “data” and see only “named and protected ranges” as one record instead of two separate menu items, you are on an older sheet that will not allow protection.

The best and easiest solution is Ctrl + Shift + V to paste data only as a value. I also tried to do this because we work with sheets that include copy / paste from different sources. It is annoying and a waste of time to go and format paint on top of new data. Practice Ctrl + Shift + V to paste to avoid having to do this. Protected ranges only prohibit other users from entering data. This does not help with format preservation.
