Attempting to access FTP with deployment credentials: 530 User cannot log in

I am trying to configure FTP access to a website hosted on Azure:

From what I understand, there are two options: you can select "Username" and "Password" on the management console when resetting the deployment credentials. Or you download the publication profile and use the credentials that are shown in the FTP XML section.

However, none of these two seem to work for me. I keep getting the answer:

530 The user cannot log in.

The ftp server seems to be in place, obviously the credentials are wrong. I am 100% sure that I have no typos.

What am I missing here? Is there anything I need to configure before using FTP with credentials provided by Azure?

We are narrowing down on this issue with full engineering participation. Website customers are encouraged to publish content using Web Deploy or Git, which are fully functional. For more information about using these methods, visit Azure.com and find “Web Matrix Websites” or “Publish Using Git”. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause our customers to appear and will provide an update at 2 pm UTC.

This is because the user ID and password that you use should not be used when connecting. The review has the option "Publish publication profile". Download it. Open it using notepad or visual studio. There is another user ID and password. Use this. See this official manual for more details.
