Reduce memory usage during development

Question

When I develop my project, I have 3+ jvm instances working for me.

• $ lein garden auto
• $ lein cljsbuild auto
• $ lein datomic start
• cider repl
• cider brepl

With the opening of firefox in a few days, I get pretty close to maximizing my 8GB of RAM. How to reduce memory consumption?

when calling the JVM you can set the maximum size to be used

eg -Xmx1024m -Xms1024m will only use 1 GB of RAM
