Can I create a new plugin for Facebook?

The Facebook box for pages is outdated today, and Facebook is encouraging page owners to replace it with a new plugin. However, I was not able to create a new page plugin, and the white background does not look good on sites with dark backgrounds.

Here is what the page plugin code looks like:

<div class="fb-page" data-href="https://www.facebook.com" data-width="500" data-small-header="false" data-adapt-container-width="true" data-hide-cover="false" data-show-facepile="true" data-show-posts="true"> <div class="fb-xfbml-parse-ignore"> <blockquote cite="https://www.facebook.com"><a href="https://www.facebook.com">Facebook</a> </blockquote> </div> </div>

I tried to insert style="background-color:black !important;" in both divs, but the plugin's background color remains white.

Has anyone been able to successfully model the page plugin?

In its current implementation, Facebook does not allow you to change the background color from white. A complete list of the attributes that they allow is in the developer docs .
