What does clearsSelectionOnViewWillAppear do?

clearsSelectionOnViewWillAppear is a logical property of table and collection views and is set to true by default. According to the Apple Directory :

A boolean value indicating whether the controller clears the selection when the table is displayed.

What does it mean?

Let's say that, as usual, you click on a cell, and this represents a new view controller. OK, but how to do it? Your faucet selects a cell. This is a visible change in the cell - the cell is highlighted.

You will later miss this view controller and return to the table / collection view.

Question: should the choice (caused by your previous click) be shown as a choice? Should the cell be explicitly selected? Default: no. We clear the selection before you explicitly return to the table / collection view.

(You can do this yourself in your implementation of viewWillAppear: but the table / collection view controller is ready to do this for you.)
