Depending on how the application is created, you can install it for individual iphone models or ipad models.

Configure target devices (iOS only) The Devices parameter determines the type of devices for which the iOS application should work. There are two types of devices: iPhone and iPad. The iPhone type includes iPhone and iPod touch devices. The iPad type includes all iPad and iPad mini devices.

To set target devices

In the project navigator, select the project and the goal to display the project editor. Click General and, if necessary, click the disclosure triangle next to Deployment Details to open the settings. From the Devices pop-up menu, select iPhone, iPad, or Universal (to set up both families). .. / Art / 3_target_devices_setting_2x.png For more information about setting up your application for iPhone, iPad, or both device families, see the "Additional Applications" section in the iOS Application Programming Guide.

It depends on your application Universal application or not.

If the Universal app and the UDID of your iPhone are included in .ipa, then it will work differently.
