Android: Google PlayStore open beta

Question

I recently found out about the latest Google testing services. This is Closed Beta testing and Open Beta testing at this link: https://support.google.com/googleplay/android-developer/answer/3131213 and http://readwrite.com/2015/07/30/google-beta- test-tools .

To try the open beta feature, I did the following:

• New Beta APK Uploaded

• Set email id for feedback

• Set the maximum number of testers.

• get the Opt-in URL (after that I can’t find a single save button or anything, as indicated in the documentation.

• Distribute this Opt-in URL to testers.

The following is the problem I am facing:

• When I click on the select URL through my Android device, it first asks me to log in. But since I'm testing Open beta, which is not limited to a specific set of e-mail messages (gmails), as well as any Google+ group or any Google community, why does it take me to the Google login page?

• After logging in through my personal inbox, I get the following error message:

Has anyone encountered such a problem before? Am I something wrong here?

Any information regarding the same should be really useful for anyone who wants to try the new beta testing service.

You do not need to set the number of testers if you do not want to. And the save button is marked as “Submit” and hidden in the upper right corner.

Regarding your questions:

• The open beta still works in conjunction with the gaming market. For example, it will update new beta versions if an application is installed on your device.

• I had a chat with support for the Google Developer Console. Here is the answer that worked for me. I waited ~ 2 hours before retrying:

The reason you get this rather vague message is because the beta (version 145) was only published 17 minutes ago.

It is still in the process of publication. Once it is fully published, this message should disappear, and you should be "suitable" to install the beta version.
