Replace an Android application with the same package name but a new keystore

Question

We have lost the keystore file for our Android application ... And we would like to replace the current application with a new application signed with a different key line from the original application. If we publish the application, is it possible to download a new application with the same package name? Or are we forced to download it with a new package name?

Usually, if you cancel the publication, rewrite your application with a new certificate with a new keystore and publish again, it will work.
