I solved the problem by installing xtext 2.7.3:

  • Download
  • In Eclipse> Help> Install New Software ...
  • Add ...> Archive> Select the downloaded .zip file
  • Check the Xtext from the list> Continue Installation
  • Restart eclipse

I use Eclipse Mars, but it works well with the Luna version.

Make sure you have Xtext 2.7.3 installed.

  • You can verify this by going to Help-> Installation Details. Check if any other version of Xtext is installed. If so, delete it.

  • Go to Help-> Install New Software, put http://download.eclipse.org/modeling/tmf/xtext/updates/composite/releases/ in the "Working with text" field and press "Enter". This will take some time from the server. Click Next, accept the license / agreement, and then Finish. Your Xtext 2.7.3 is installed.

Installed a specific version of 2.7.3 Xtext using the downloaded zip code and it fixed the problem for me when I ran neon on my mac os x El Capitan
