How to deploy the Windows Phone 8.1 application to a Windows 10 mobile device?

I could not deploy the Windows Phone 8.1 (XAML, appx) application for the Nokia Lumia 920 running Windows 10 Mobile v10512 . Deployment Failed:

Error : DEP0001 : Unexpected Error: Element not found. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070490)

The WP8.1 application works for WP8.1 devices. Deploying Windows 10 UWP applications on this Windows 10 mobile device also works. Even deploying this WP8.1 application in the Windows 10 mobile emulator works.

I got a machine running Windows 10 x64, Visual Studio 2015 with Windows 10 SDK v10240, all RTM.
