Ground rights and training data set

Question

I want to know the relationship between the training data set, the test data set and the gound truth. I know the meaning of each of them separately, but I don’t see a connection between them, in particular, about ground truth and training data.

Your training data is what you train your classifier for.

Then you check the accuracy of your model on your test suite.

Fundamental truth refers to the label for each sample that you have, i.e. you know which category / result belongs to each sample

There is another important use of the term “true truth”, where in regression problems it is very important to know the true deterministic component of the data to be modeled.

Ground Truth is factual data that has been detected or measured and can be analyzed objectively. This has not been done. If the data are based on the assumption, are subject to opinion or are discussed, then, by definition, this is not data of earthly truth.
