FireFox "software installation has been disabled by your system administrator"

Installing Firebug in FireFox I get this error message:

System administrator has disabled software installation

I am the administrator of this PC, how do I enable the installation of Firefox add-ons?

Note: answer my own problem to help others in the future.

The main reason for this parameter is: enter image description here

This blog , published 3 years ago, has a solution with Windows XP, then the trick was to change this parameter:

user_pref("xpinstall.enabled", true); in the file C: \ Documents and Settings \ UID \ Application Data \ Mozilla \ Firefox \ Profiles \ fxlme5ka.default.

To do this in the latest version of Firefox, follow these steps:
  • Close Firefox

  • Open the file C: \ Program Files (x86) \ Mozilla \ Firefox \ mozilla.cfg in Notepad

  • Comment on the rule that blocks it:

// Block extensions
// lockPref ("xpinstall.enabled", false); // prevent extensions

  1. Firefox reboot

Thanks for the good solution, but 4 and 5 steps are not required.

No need to add approximately: config

Just follow these steps and restart your browser.

1. Close Firefox 2. Open the file C: \ Program Files (x86) \ Mozilla \ Firefox \ mozilla.cfg in Notepad 3. Follow the rule that blocks it:

  1. Reopen Firefox. Firebug will then appear in the address bar.

thanks
