Nope. Theyre two separate ways to develop Firefox add-ons.

To add a bit more details, if you are writing the add-in that you want to use now, you probably want to go with jpm . WebExtensions are still being implemented, and although we at Mozilla would like to hear your API usage data, they are not ready for use at this location (end of September 2015). If you want to write WebExtension, Ive written a tutorial that should help you get started.

You can try firefox-addon-skeleton to quickly launch WebExtensions.
