Git remote url with username in the form of email address

I would like to have the git username stored in the remote url so as not to type it every time I click or drag.

I found many answers ( such as this one ) that solves the problem. The fact is that my username contains @ , as this is (and unfortunately should be) an email address.

When I enter http:// me@domain.com @myrepo.git , the parser is confused and only accepts me as the username.

How can i solve this? Is this even positive? Unfortunately, I cannot use ssh, for https this is the only option.

Use url-escaping i.e. replace @ with username %40 :

 http://me% 40domain.com@myrepo.git
