What is the right way to consult a Vimeo CDN for a custom player?

using api against / videos / ID, I get a bunch of links, choose the corret format and them, I can play on my own site.

But it’s slow, I’m not in the USA, and it’s slow for my clients.

(I am a subscriber of Vimeo PRO)

While checking a similar site recently, I noticed that their URLs are generated as

https://13-lvl3-pdl.vimeocdn.com/01/1924/4/ ....

And mine are generated as

https://fpdl.vimeocdn.com/vimeo-prod-skyfire-std-us/01/4067/6/ ...

The first thing I could not learn how to get into my own videos was really faster and lower latency.

Any light on this would be much appreciated.

These URLs are dynamically generated on the server. There is no software way in which you can change which CDN URL you get.

Please refer to vimeo.com so they can find out more why it is so slow for you.

After downloading and processing the vimeo video, it generates HD, SD and HLS links. From time to time, it depends on many factors, such as the hosting environment, the player used for streaming videos, Internet bandwidth, etc. Etc.

So, first check the following things:

1) Do you use a third-party player to stream your videos?

2) Do you use HLS video calling for video streaming?

3) What is your hosting environment in terms of server response time?

Some suggestions for improving the video stream:

1) Get the best hosting plan that has the best server response time.

2) Use the default vimeo player for streaming videos.

3) If you are using a third-party player, than using the generated HLS vimeo communication with a third-party HLS player.

You can absolutely choose which CDN you can upload your videos from. Vimeo uses three CDNs, and you can set a cookie that will tell the player which cdn will be used. Check out this link: https://player.vimeo.com/flags Here you can select cdn and it sets the cookie I mentioned. You can set this cookie for your users on your website and the video will be extracted from this cdn.
