Question

Every time I try to register a beacon in the beacon google tools application on andriod, I add it, but it does not seem to allow me to register it, the text of the register beacon is greyed. Is there a way to register a beacon?

I suspect that you are trying to register an Eddystone-URL beacon (or possibly Eddystone-EID). The Beacon Tools app allows you to register iBeacon or Eddystone-UID beacons. It will detect some other types of broadcast beacon signals, but only supports these two types of frames. I saw this in the Beacon Tools app that when I discover the translation of the Eddystone URLs, I can touch it, but the “Register Beacon” is greyed out.

Here you can see what Google is talking about using Eddystone-UID (or EID, but this setting is more complicated ). And here they say that iBeacon is also supported for notifications with satellites.

You may already have registered this beacon for another project. If not, create one Google API Console project.

And select your project in the Beacon Tools app and then continue.

Your beacon should be set up as Eddystone. otherwise, Beacon Tools will not detect it.

As @David said, if you used the Eddystone URL, the register option in the beacon tools will be grayed out.

But just turning on Eddystone UID will not work for me, because the beacon tools will not recognize my beacon at all. What I did for this work was to include the iBeacon and Eddystone UID during configuration.

After you register the lighthouse on the lighthouses, you need to update the "registered" list to see it there. Or go to the Google developer toolbar of your project.
