I download 7GB + iso for Visual Studio 2015 with Update3 enabled. Then I started creating a standalone installer for the developer. machine using vs_community.exe / layout
He finished (said that everything was done and more than 12 GB was downloaded), but he said that he could not download the last thing, windows sdk or something like that, maybe I skipped to say yes to the last firewall leap out. Anyway, I said ok and then re-run vs_communinty.exe / layout
But at the same time, access to the Engine Engine function is supported, if it is not specified in a new empty download directory. If I point it to the previous folder, it will fail with the Access Engine Access failure, error 0x80070005 will appear in the logs
Does anyone know how to make the RESUME installer so that there is no need to reload the full 12.5 GB again, only for the last 500 MB still needed?
I'm also curious if 7GB + in the downloaded ISO will be used at all during installation or not, it seems strange to download 7GB + iso to just throw it away after running vs_community.exe / layout, which reloads everything into some directory for offline installation . When I downloaded 7GB + iso, I realized that everything that was needed for the "offline installation" was already compressed, but obviously this is not so.
