Missing suphp on Ubuntu 16.04

Question

I am working on a new LAMP server based on Ubuntu 16.04, but there seems to be no libapache2-mod-suphp package in the repositories by default. On my previous Ubuntu server, it was available through a simple apt-get install libapache2-mod-suphp.

Does anyone know what could happen?

According to this error suphp is no longer available in the repo. You must install it manually from libapache2-mod-suphp .
