How to use Eclipse Neon Mylyn with Jira since the connector has been discontinued

After Atlassian’s terrible decision to terminate the Eclipse connector for Jira, it seems to me that there is no way to use Mylyn in Eclipse Neon integrates with Gira. Is it just me? Are there any workarounds?

It finally works with Eclipse Oxygen (still), using atlassian Updatesite, which is also mentioned in the Bitbucket OpenSource project . Please note that the manual page , which is also located there, offers a download link to use offline update mode. Since the actual data is actually hosted by atlassian, let's just hope that they do not give up support for hosting these files.

As far as I understand, support is still fully functional, including the ability to create new tickets, add comments and manage the ticket’s life cycle

PS: I needed to configure the proxy server settings accordingly (here Jira is located inside the house, so we need an exclusion rule for the proxy server used to connect to the Internet by default).

I have not yet fought Neon, but on Mars, which was also not officially supported, I managed to get Jira to partially work with this installation URL:

Atlassian Connector for Eclipse 3.7 and later - http://update.atlassian.com/atlassian-eclipse-plugin/rest/e3.7

This allows me to see the list of tasks, select Jiras, and he will remember the working sets for each Jira I choose, but one important function for me that I cannot work with is the Team Synchronizing perspective. I CAN'T add the changed files to the changeset linked to the Jira, as I can in the Moon.

I can see incoming changes using jira related change sets, but not create outgoing jira related change sets.

I tried many times to install my Mars, trying to update Mylyn, but if I take version 3.20, it will be the foo-bar of my installation.
