I cannot find a way in Wowza or any other solution, such as nginx-rtmp-module, to transfer real-time RTMP metadata and insert it into specific frames of a saved MP4 file.
Maybe I’m looking at it wrong, but our real-time broadcast application allows the broadcaster to post comments / reviews, and we want viewers to see these comments in the exact frame that the broadcaster commented on. We tried to separate the two parts where the video was transmitted through wowza and the comments sent to clients via PubNub, but there is only a big difference when the comments appear.
The only way I can think of is to include the broadcaster’s comments inside the metadata for the specific frame that was made by the comment. Then we are guaranteed that the comment will appear in the right place.
