How can I suggest a change to the HTTP standard?

I have a pretty simple addition to the HTTP standard. An ambitious goal that I know, but at least I would like to present a proposal and get feedback on this idea. What is a suitable forum / way to do this?

The current HTTP standard is part of the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) Hypertext Transfer Protocol Bis ( httpbis ) workgroup . This page displays contact information for the group and current changes / clarifications to the RFC-2616 standard, which defines HTTP and proposed changes, etc. This is an active group, so give it a whirlwind!

According to the W3C HTTP page :

Now that both HTTP extensions and HTTP / 1.1 are stable specifications, W3C has closed HTTP activity. The activity has achieved the goals of creating a successful standard that addresses the shortcomings of the earlier HTTP version.

HTTP / 1.1 revision efforts begin at IETF httpbis working group

On the page with the last link there is a mailing list to which you can join, as well as the size of the working group. You may be able to get feedback on the merits of your idea in an abstract expression, but, of course, you will not get hope for a change.
