EDIT:
regarding comment:
He really discovered more SOA. This is about 3-5 years ago (in front of me), and it was generally known last year that SOA helped the company move from a 3-year system with a delay to a new one within a year.

We have just implemented a credit card processing web service that allows us to process transactions using the Delphi POS system and the Classic ASP website. In addition, we hope to get it working with the Java-based IVR system.

The web service was written in ASP.NET (C #) and uses SSL encryption, XML validation, XSD, and a load-balanced web farm.

Recently, we have also introduced various services that do everything from checking addresses to creating orders in our ERP system.

Let me see if I can start a conversation. My company has implemented a wrapper around the most common Active Directory search needs. I guess this may be one of the most common things to do first in Microsoft / .NET stores.

Does anyone implement a utility library? Write a facade to some SAP module? Discover some services for staff? I wonder what people are working on.
